About Hoop

Hi, I'm Vanessa and I opened Hoop Haberdashery in 2011, a small high street store in Tenterden, Kent, stuffed full of gorgeous supplies and natural fibres for knitters, crocheters, and stitchers.

Now, 15 years later I'm joined by my husband William, and we've relocated to Yorkshire, where we have opened a new online store and a large, welcoming yarn shop at Sunny Bank Mills in Farsley.

Here, I plan to showcase an extensive range of natural fibres and yarns from both local producers and worldwide brands. Beautiful yarns that will inspire knitters and crocheters of all levels.

Appropriately set in a beautifully restored worsted spinning and weaving mill in the heart of Farsley, Hoop offers everything you need to bring your creative ideas to life.

Emily neckerchief by Lang Yarns

I’m still knitting neckerchiefs.. they’re such useful little knits aren’t they,  but this one is a bit special.

It’s a new Lang Yarns pattern and yarn... Cashmere Extra Lace.

This yarn is a super fine, 100% Cashmere. It’s cobweb thin and really delicate so you can use it for heirloom wedding shawls,

or use it as a companion yarn instead of mohair or alpaca for luxurious softness

or you can hold 2 strands together to knit this triangular scarf.

This is unbelievably light and soft, it really needs to be squished to be believed.
